Märkas' labels ensure the distribution flow at Elgiganten
Elgiganten is one of Sweden’s leading chains of consumer electronics and appliances. The first department store opened in 1994 in Barkaby and today there are about 160 stores in Sweden. Elgiganten’s Nordic distribution warehouse is located in Jönköping. The delivery capacity more than doubled when the new, expanded and automated distribution centre was put into operation a couple of years ago. The service rate increased significantly in both physical stores and e-commerce, which gave Elgiganten the business award “Logistics initiative of the year”. For many years, Märkas has been trusted to deliver label solutions for Elgiganten’s distribution centre.
A FLOW OF PRINTED LABELS
All parcels passing through the distribution flow will be marked with labels containing pre-set information to ensure that the end-customer receives his or her ordered products. The labels differ depending on the packaging line and product. Therefore, Elgiganten needs labels in several different formats that can be filled with varying information, from barcodes to text.
