Smart Print & Apply solution facilitates the labelling process at Knapp AB
Knapp AB is part of the Austrian group Knapp AG. The company is a complete supplier of various types of manual and automated warehousing solutions and material handling systems. This means that Knapp sells and delivers everything from proprietary software to PLC control, as well as mechanical equipment. Often, Knapp delivers large warehouse solutions where they have total functional responsibility towards the customer. The main area of work is the Scandinavian market, but in terms of installations, products and areas of activity, there is an increasing global market. We at Märkas have been granted the task of developing a sustainable and reliable integrated labelling solution for Knapp.
FAST AND SMOOTH LABELLING THAT MEETS THE HIGH REQUIREMENTS
Knapp’s many logistics projects include different kinds of labelling. The requirements are high for traceability, which means that individual labelling must be correct from packing to end-customer. In addition, with large amounts of data and labels to be applied to the packaging, there is a great need for a smooth and reliable system. That’s why we have created and installed a complete and integrated Print & Apply system in Knapp’s logistics flow. A scanner reads the barcode labels on the packaging and sends the information to Märkas’ Inline printers which in turn searches for label data in the customer’s file system. Once the correct file is detected, the information is sent back to the Inline printer which prints and applies the label.
